SUPPORT CIRCLE
Marketing Director - David Sonshine
I met Kula's Coby and Ananda on a surf trip to Troncones. They held my first cacao ceremony, but not my last. I returned to my job in San Francisco, but later after quitting, I'd meet back up with them in Peru for more ceremony. I help the Kula market their life-changing trainings and retreats - it's a perfect way to promote openness in the world and follow my internal compass towards the nomadic life. Right now I'm exploring the life cycles that sustain us, working on a farm in O'ahu, feeling very connected to the cycles of life and death, both in my personal life and farm life. In making any risky or scary decision I try to remember: “If you assume that there is no hope, you guarantee that there will be no hope. If you assume that there is an instinct for freedom, that there are opportunities to change things, then there is a possibility that you can contribute to making a better world.” -Noam Chomsky |
Sales Director - Johana Stark
I am an Argentinian-born, nature-loving woman who lives on Vancouver Island. For a large part of the last 3 years, I lived and worked at an off-the-grid outdoor education center and lodge nestled in the boreal rainforest. It was in nature that I found myself again...where I listened and believed Khalil Gibran's words of wisdom: "...forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair”. This close relationship to mother earth continued to float me back to the Kula tribe. I have recently rooted into a village where I teach yoga, coordinate at an oceanside spa and work remotely for the Kula Collective. I draw inspiration from the elements, nature and geology while weaving these influences into my personal practice and teaching. One of my favourite studios is the water - any body water. A flat lake or lazy ocean set the perfect stage for a sweet SUP Yoga session which I LOVE to teach. On my downtime you can find me chanting in the woods, practicing my mermaid skills, gardening, or hiking a new peak. I am the oldest of 3 sisters and dream of travelling with my nephews and niece so I can show them the beauty of a traveler's life. I am fascinated by nomads, holistic healing, language, and love experiencing new cultures whenever possible. I treat every class as a journey, every day as an opportunity and every breath as an invitation to feel a little lighter. |
Director of Expansion - Kylie Roswell
A Pisces dreamer, adventure seeker and traveling yogi, Kylie Roswell is a compassionate and energetic person. Taping into her creative side, Kylie makes jewelry by day and sews costumes by night. At heart, she is a mountain girl who attended the University of Colorado Boulder, focusing on sustainable design and graphic design. After enduring major foot surgeries post college, she experienced a major life change and quit her “stable” job to follow her passion- yoga. After buying a one way ticket to Asia, her dream became her job. This adventure was filled with healing and personal discovery, self expansion and clarity. The adventure turned into a path and the path turned into a reality. The spiritual and almost fateful paths were crossed when Kula Collective appeared in her life. In her role with Kula Collective as Director of Expansion, she helps keep the Kula fractal growing by supporting the Kula Ambassador, Dharma and Kula Path programs. On the side, Kylie teaches yoga at a small studio in New Orleans where she incorporates teaching children and adults. She also runs her small business with her soul sister Julia, called 'Voodoo Child Collective’ selling their own handicrafts and conscious imports from small groups of women around the world. |

Social Media Master - Tori Rayy
I enjoy reading, writing & playing. As a teenager, I would spend my breaks off the grid exploring the mountains, volunteering on reservations, climbing on rocks and rafting down rivers. My heart is happy when I am outdoors. I fell in love with yoga whilst traveling around the world. As I explored different countries, cultures and religions, I kept finding myself back on my mat. No matter the country, yoga is home. No matter the language, yoga is universal. Working for the Kula Collective allows me to combine both of my passions - Yoga & Marketing. I love marketing something that I believe in, something that will make the world a better place. This position allows me to connect with the Kula Community, sharing inspiration and love around the world. Social Media plays such a huge role in our day-to-day lives that it’s a blessing to apart of this team. |
Publishing Intern - Alejandro Torres
Alejandro's path in Yoga started in 2010. It’s been a beautiful journey since then. A journey of healing, of growing, of letting go. He worked for 12 years in IT for the corporate world. Now Alejandro lives a nomadic life. In 2016 he moved to Guatemala where he lived for 6 months in the shores of Lake Atitlan where he had his first contact with the Kula Collective and knew that somehow my path was meant to be a part of it. Living in the lake gave Alejandro the clarity to rethink my purpose in this life. He is currently in a state of transition where he wants to become a yoga teacher as well as pursuing a career as a photographer. Through photography Alejandro wants to capture the essence of life and inspire others to enjoy every moment. |
