"Australian born J.R. Jayānanda is a student and teacher of sacred arts. Throughout adolescence Jaya was immersed in holistic thought and began teaching Meditation and later Yoga in his early 20’s. He has taught with and lead more than 18 Yoga Teacher Trainings around the world at 200 and advanced 300hr levels. Within these courses maintaining a primary focus on Meditation, practical Eastern psychology and philosophy. He has always incorporated and found profound results with the use of sound and song. From the Yogic traditional paths of Mantra and Kirtan, the call and response style and also meditative recitation of repeating simple and sometimes complex Mantras, Nada Yoga and the deep inquiry of the nature of sound to modern and worldly approaches of transformation and concentration through the voice and instruments to facilitate the opening of the heart and the elevation of the mind.
Certified ERYT-500 studying in depth in India traditional Hatha, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Satyananda and Sivanada styles of Yoga to bring about an approach based in tradition yet modern in it’s understanding. From the Philosophies of the scriptures to neuroscience and transpersonal therapy we find just how our practice rooted in this quality of meditation will transform our life.
A published author of three works of poetry Jaya’s words have been celebrated as joyful reminders of the path we walk. Currently he is working on several new works including a fresh look at Sound in the book ‘The Yoga of Listening, from Sound to Silence’. Jaya established the school ‘Sound Ceremony’ in 2012 and has lead and shared more than 100 ceremonies in sound. Like a bath or a shower of vibration through the individual or group with the use of ancient instruments from all over the world. The first Sound Ceremony 85 Training Immersions will take place in 2018 at The Yoga Forest, Guatemala.
Jayā & Saraswatī (and baby Elijah-Rumi) have recently recorded their first album in The Sacred Valley of Peru titled ‘Wave of the Heart’.A blend of ancient Sanskrit Mantra, English, Spanish and Portuguese to weave the listener through a worldly tapestry to crack the container of the heart.”
